'RHOBH' Star Garcelle Beauvais Goes About 'Thriving' in Her 50s

Garcel Bovis, 56, is a The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Najma tells it like it is. So it’s no surprise that the star recently opened up about all the things getting old, looking, and feeling her best in her 50s.

Buffet recalled being told she would “never work again” once she entered her forties, in an interview the people. “But I feel like I’m thriving in my fifties,” she said, “not only because I’m staying on top of my health as much as I can, but I’m also more self-aware and more active.”

The star says she prioritizes self-care and her general health, which has made a huge difference. “I really put myself first in terms of taking care of myself because I can’t fill someone else’s cup if the cup isn’t full, right? That’s really important,” she explained.

“In my 50s, I’m doing things I never thought I’d do and I’m happier,” Buffet continued. “So it’s really important for me to stay healthy because otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to do any of those things.”

For Beauvais, staying healthy involves more than just maintaining a nutritious diet or crafting a self-care routine. The actress has explained that she takes charge of her health by being more “proactive” when it comes to things like regular visits to her doctors and asking questions about her health.

“I feel healthier when I’m able to do all the things I want to do and not have aches,” Buffet continued. “I wake up in the morning and I feel good. Either I go for a walk or I take the boys to school and then I meet a friend and do something.”

“It’s when I feel like I’m in my twenties again,” she said. “When I’m feeling energized and I feel like the world is my oyster.”

Beauvais said in the interview that she enlisted the support of her best friends, and held each other accountable when it came to staying on top of doctor appointments and routine care. “You really need your village, your front row, your friends,” she said.
